Autumn is here and with it the time when you can particularly enjoy warm home-made meals, long conversations with friends with a warm cup of tea in your hand and excursions into nature when the falling leaves rustle melodically under our feet. Food: open farms
The hospitality and cosiness of the farms that have open doors for visitors provide some warmth on increasingly cold autumn days. The tea season has started! And where else are you sure to find your favourite one than in Jasmin, a shop that has over 20 years of tradition and sells 150 different varieties of tea. Trip: Šum waterfall
Did you know that there is a 25 meter high waterfall close to the village of Nova vas near Zgornja Besnica. It is hidden in the forest and its little valley is shaped like a vase, so the way there is steep. Be attentive and careful when descending. If you then walk up its river bed, the path leads you to the former Roman bath, described in 1689 by Johann Weichard von Valvasor in his book The Glory of the Duchy of Carniola. In 1954, two smaller pools were built at the thermal spring in which rheumatism patients could find relieve their pain. Today, only some remains of the pools are visible.
