5 tips for September

Summer is slowly turning into autumn and September is the month when it is pleasantly warm during the day while in the mornings and evenings, one can already perceive the scents of autumn. Take a look at these 5 tips on how to make this month even more beautiful.


Food: Bife.si

New neighbours are welcoming us to Koroška Street No. 6! At Bife, salad recipes are taken very seriously. On their menu you will find colourful creations and see salads in a whole new light, made with local ingredients and in environmentally friendly packaging. In addition to juicy salads, there is also a chicken and vegetable soup with seaweed, as well as hepi balls made of dates, cocoa and coconut, and chocolate biscuits.



Drinks: Kavarna in cukrarija

This friendly little café and pastry shop is located opposite from the Church of St. Cantianus on the main square. The nicely decorated interior greets you with the pleasant scent of of cakes and desserts, baked here practically right before your eyes. If the weather is nice, you can also enjoy the cakes at at your table outside, having a coffee and watching the hustle and bustle of the city.



Shopping: Blanka

The beginning of autumn is the time to discover a new hobby for yourself or to rekindle your fondness for an old one. This cooler season is perfect for knitting or crochet. The Blanka shop in the Tavčar Street is the right place for all knitting, crochet and sewing enthusiasts, as its shelves offer a wide selection of yarns and accessories for your creative autumn activities.



Excursion: View from the tower of St. Cantianus

Have a peak behind 600-year-old walls and 163 steps will take you 40 metres high. The view from the observation platform of the St. Cantianus church will reveal many stories of this town built on a rock. The view extends to all three mountain ranges of the Slovenian Alps and to all four directions of the sky. 15 times a day, 10 ornately crafted bronze bells play melodies right from this bell tower. Tickets are available at the Kranjska hiša tourist information office on Glavni trg 2 and they cost €6 per person or €4 per person for families and groups. Visits are possible every day between 9 am and 5 pm. If you have a residence in Slovenia, you can also purchase the entrance ticket using your voucher 21, the minimum total value for this is €20.



Event: Ogled filma Jadralke

Saturday evening (18 September) is ideal for a movie night! The film by Alex Holmes will be screened in the Škrovec Tower at 8pm.
