The church stands above the village, has a wonderful view over mountains and valleys and is less than 20 kilometres away from Kranj. This hill had an important role in the Middle Ages, when a warning fire was lit on it whenever the Turkish army attacked the country.
Today you can admire the breathtaking view from here and see the Ljubljana basin, the Julian Alps, the Karawanken and the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. It is not surprising that this is one of the most photographed locations in Slovenia.
