Janez Puhar was the pioneer of Slovenian photography. He was multi-talented young man with a particular interest in fine arts, but he decided to become a priest in accordance with his mother's wishes. He never lost his passion for research and fine arts. He made photographic history in 1843 as the inventor of photography on glass, which at the time meant that he was at the pinnacle of world photography.
