Jošt is one of the favourite hills for people from Kranj and some of them like to climb it every day. It offers good opportunities for recreational sports, hiking in nature or you can simply enjoy the wonderful view or the excellent local cuisine. The top of the hill can be reached by car, mountain bike or on foot. There are several footpaths and they are all well maintained and marked. With its 847 meters above sea level, the hill offers a good view of the mountains Triglav, Stol and Grintavec, each of which is the highest in its mountain group, and you can also see the entire basin of Ljubljana. At the top of the hill you will also find Dom na Joštu, a restaurant with tempting scents from the kitchen, where traditional dishes are prepared. It is interesting to know that the writer Fran Saleški Finžgar worked as a priest in this pilgrimage church and he completed his social novel Upwards here.
