After meetings of instagrammers have happened in Ljubljana, Maribor and Koper, last Friday also Kranj hosted the fourth Slovenian Instameet and attracted the biggest crowd so far!
Enthusiastic photographers and users of Instagram have spent the day discovering most interesting corners of Kranj and concluded their tour with a wonderful panoramic view from the top of the water tower.
More than 40 participants – mostly from Slovenia, but some of them also from abroad – have attended the Instameet in Kranj, organized by @VisitKranj and @igslovenia. Their meeting point was the garden of Khislstein Castle and from there, they went further to explore the old town centre. The “tour” was a bit more than two hours long and its best part was like a cherry on top: taking photos from the top of the water tower with its amazing view of the town and the nature surrounding it.
The very relaxed company was then served the famous Kranj sausage and some beer that was brewed in Kranj. “The Instameet in Kranj was great. With its 40 participants it was also the biggest one until now. Obviously, we have managed to bring such get-togethers close enough to the people, so that they enjoy being a part of them,” said the founder of #igslovenia, Sanja Leban Trojar, and she also highlighted the part ofInstameet that she found the most interesting:
“The town centre, of course. I have been looking forward a lot to climbing the stairs of the water tower, but unfortunately, someone had to stay outside and be the dog nannyJ. But I would very much like to see more hidden corners of Kranj, those less familiar, but great to photograph. Because, this is the purpose of Instameet, not a walk around tourist destinations, but the search for photo locations. One of such locations was probably the Kokra River Canyon, but it got carried away from us – by the dusk. But for the next time, definitely.”
