At the Bled Water Forum 2023, co-organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning and the Bled Tourist Board, two high awards were presented, one of which was also given to Kranj.<\/h3>\n

The Municipality of Kranj, the Tourism and Culture Board and the water utility company Komunala Kranj have received the first BWF International Certificate of Excellence for the above-average quality of drinking water from the public well at the Main Square in Kranj<\/strong>. The award also refers to the demonstrated responsibility and understanding of the importance of drinking water for the local community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe quality of our water is well above basic safety requirements and we are therefore able to provide the highest level of awareness of the importance of drinking water in the country. Drinking tap water reduces the unnecessary use of plastic and keeps the environment clean. That is why we encourage our citizens and guests to drink tap water at home<\/em>,\u201d said the Mayor of Kranj<\/strong>, Matja\u017e Rakovec<\/strong>, upon receiving the award. He was very pleased to represent the first city in Slovenia to have received this international certification.<\/p>\n

We have received the first BWF International Certificate of Excellence for the above-average quality of drinking water from the public well at Kranj\u2019s Main Square.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Klemen Malovrh<\/strong>, Director of the Tourism and Culture Board Kranj<\/strong>, said: \u201cThis award goes alongside the other two awards we have received this year, the European Destination of Excellence and the platinum Slovenia Green Destination label. We are delighted to be able to show yet another recognition that we are moving in the right direction, towards sustainable development.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Among this year\u2019s entries for the most innovative and sustainable technological solutions in the field of drinking water, PROTE Technologies for our Environment, a Polish company, was awarded the European Water Award 2023 for its Symbio Biomonitoring System. The SYMBIO BIOMONITORING SYSTEM is an early warning system for drinking water, designed to provide early warning of water contamination. The system combines a natural method of bioindication, based on living organisms called bioindicators, with modern technology that enables automatic water monitoring and data archiving.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
