Majdič Island

The bank of the Sava River is now open for pedestrians and cyclists, connecting the city centre with Majdičev Log, an island that can be very inviting with its green areas and views of the river.

The landscaped embankment of the canal now has new street furniture and interesting information boards that introduce visitors to the history of the island and fun facts about nature, the circumstances and people who have shaped the island and its surroundings over the years.

Did you know that the island was once the largest nesting site for jackdaws and that even today the lowest habitat of the edelweiss in the world is located nearby?
