When the poet Dr. France Prešeren (1846–1849) lived here, the house was owned by the merchant and brewer Franc Mayr. Today, this is a memorial museum, where one can learn a lot about the poet’s life, see his original manuscripts and valuable editions of books, as well as a room with original furniture from that time.
On the ground floor there is a gallery with various exhibitions, including those related to the life, work and the name of the poet.
