St. Mary of the Rosary Church

The third church in the old town is dedicated to Saint Mary of the Rosary. It stands on the Mohor slope (Vodopivec Street), where Jože Plečnik designed a monumental entrance to the town. The church was built in the first decade of the 16th century and later belonged to the Protestant community.

With the growing urban population, a cemetery was built around the church at that time. Mostly poor people were buried here, while the tombs of the nobles, primarily from the neighbouring Khislstein Castle, are in the crypt of the church.
