Cheerful December

December is a time of twinkling lights, peacefulness, warmth, small tokens of appreciation and good wishes. To be honest, this is also the time when one is constantly in a hurry, often wondering how fast time is going. So stop for a moment, take a full breath and some time for your loved ones, for feelings of love, a good conversation, laughter and relaxation. We invite you to spend this time also in our company. We've prepared a diverse program for this Cheerful December, something that will make you dance and something that will warm your heart.

For children there are many surprises in the Little Fairy Tale Forest this year. Every Tuesday, Kranček, the cheerful dwarf, will make something creative with them, there will be theatrical and musical performances that will create fairytale worlds for the kids and in the evenings, they will be able to hear Bedtime Stories from the loudspeakers in the old town. Saint Nicholas, Santa Claus and Father Frost will visit them, and their hearts will be a bright as their good wishes that will fly high with the sky lanterns on the eve before the Feast of Saint Lucia.

On the ice rink on the Slovenian Square you can skate circles under the stars, with festive lights above you. Skates can be rented for 3 Euro and the same price has the penguin that makes it easier to learn ice skating if you hold on to it. For cold hands and hungry bellies, hot drinks and snacks are available. The skating rink is open Mondays to Fridays from 3pm to 9pm and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9am to 9pm.

New this year is a nativity scene made of ice. The opening ceremony will be on 20 december at 5pm between the church of St. Cantianus and the Prešeren Theatre.

Rhythm, music and a fiery-passionate atmosphere will be experienced every day in the streets of Kranj. There will be ample opportunity for social gatherings, friendly conversations and walks through the festively decorated old town where you can also visit the small shops with handmade unique items, as well as the stalls at the Christmas market. On Thursdays you should definitely visit the Vegan Street Food Event, where everyone will be able find something delicious.

We wish you a magical Cheerful December and a happy and healthy New Year!
