St. Kancijan’s Church

The church, built at the beginning of the 15th century, is the most distinctive building in the townscape of Kranj. It is one of the most important monuments of Gothic architecture in Slovenia and a model for churches in Radovljica, Škofja Loka, Kamnik and Šentrupert in the Dolenjska region. There is a long history of religious buildings at this location, dating back to pre-Slavic times.

The bell tower is open to the public and has a view of all three mountain ranges of the Slovenian Alps and all four directions.
