The old town hall is composed of two houses joined into one. The house on the corner is older and had a storage room for goods sold at fairs. The right-side building with the large entrance on the main square is one of the most beautiful Renaissance castles in Slovenia, originating from the 16th and 17th centuries.
Nowadays it hosts three outstanding permanent exhibitions of Gorenjska Museum, The Iron Thread, Folk Art in the Gorenjska Region and the collection by the sculptor Lojze Dolinar. On the ground floor, there are also two galleries, the Little Gallery is managed by local artists and on the right is the Gallery of the Town Hall. Lovers often come up to the first floor to say “I do” in the wedding hall.
