Gorenjska Museum

The Gorenjska Museum is the central gallery and museum in the region. Its mission is based on its most important collections: archaeological collection, ethnological collection, ancient history collection, art collection, collection of cultural and recent history and modern times, cabinet of Slovenian photography, collection of art from the Gorenjska region and the Prešerniana collection.

The museum aims to be in constant communication with its environment – by presenting the local heritage in exhibitions, publications, workshops, study courses and lectures.

The main exhibition venues of the Gorenjska Museum are the Khislstein Castle, the Town Hall in Prešeren’s HouseOssuary in Kranj and Gallery of Prešeren award laureates Pavšlar house in Kranj (as well as three little museums in Bohinj – the Tomaž Godec Museum, the Museum of Alpine Dairy Farming and the Oplen House).
