Šum Waterfall

The Šum waterfall is located 10 kilometers outside of Kranj, in Nova vas near Zgornja Besnica. It is hidden in a narrow valley in the forest and is 25 meters high, with a deep pool below. You can continue uphill along this brook called Nemiljščica. The path leads through the forest to the Roman thermal bath that was described in the 17th century by Valvasor in his book The Glory of the Duchy of Carniola. At the thermal spring that has about 20°C two small basins were built in 1954 and rheumatism patients bathed here. Today, only the remains of these basins can be seen.
