Let's visit Kranj for the most cheerful December

Kranj, the town of Prešeren, pays tribute to the greatest Slovenian poet on several occasions. So it is with Cheerful December, which will take place from his birthday, 3 December, until 31 December 2023. There are 12 extraordinary concerts, a cheerful (= prešeren) programme for children and a wonderful Christmas market. Great experiences can be found also above and below the city! It’s the Alpine air and urban flair.

Winter fun

The capital of the Gorenjska regions has one of the most beautiful historic centres in Slovenia and an excellent location in the Alps. Every day of your holiday you can choose a new winter sport and a new winter fairy tale in ideal conditions.

Skiing

Hop onto the snow from Kranj and choose one of the mountains where the weather is nicer that day! We recommend a visit to Krvavec, Stari Vrh or Kranjska Gora. You’ll find excellent cross-country skiing trails in Pokljuka and Jezersko.

Ice skating

You can have fun on ice skates in the ice hall, on the open-air ice rink on Slovenski trg or, if the temperature is right, on the little lake of Bobovek.

Enjoy the warmth in the Elegans Wellness Centre, where special sauna rituals have been created to enhance the feeling of relaxation and create a special experience.
