Cheerful December in the city
Kranj, the city of Prešeren, pays tribute to our greatest poet on several occasions. And so it is with the Cheerful December. Being one of the most beautifully decorated towns, Kranj has Christmas lights from 3 December, when the municipal holiday commemorates the birthday of the poet France Prešeren, to 8 February, when the town pays tribute to him once again with the Prešeren Fair.
The Cheerful December programme will take place between 3 and 31 December 2024 and will include 12 exceptional concerts and musical events, a cheerful programme for children and a beautiful Christmas market.

On top of the bell tower of the Church of St. Cantianus, rising above the city, you can experience both the Alpine air and the urban flair.
