Renowned Kranj chef Matjaž Erzar – Matiček, with the indispensable help of his partner Simona Virant, has been running this well-known Kranj restaurant for over two decades. Chef Erzar is well-versed in the ingredients and dishes from the past of the Gorenjska region; at the same time, he is a hunter who enjoys gardening, so he grows the vast majority of the vegetables he serves to his guests himself.

The restaurant has been awarded two chef’s hats in the Gault & Millau Slovenia culinary guide, two forks by the Austrian culinary magazine Falstaff, and two hearts in the Vivi rating.

Amuse-bouche: house-made delicacies in cones
Appetizer: Matiček’s specialties, venison charcuterie products
Soup: spring cream soup
Main course: venison, mouflon, and wild boar with three sauces and buckwheat dumplings
Dessert: apple strudel

Menu price: 30 euros

Okusi kranjskih miz (1. – 18. junij 2023)

Prepoznavni kranjski chef Matjaž Erzar – Matiček ob nepogrešljivi pomoči partnerice Simone Virant že več kot dve desetletji vodi to znano kranjski gostilno. Chef Erzar pozna starodavne sestavine in jedi gorenjske preteklosti, hkrati pa je lovec, ki rad vrtnari – veliko večino zelenjave, ki jo postreže gostom, pridela sam. Gostilno pr’ Matičku so v kulinaričnem vodniku Gault & Millau Slovenija označili z dvema kuharskima kapama, avstrijska kulinarična revija Falstaff je Matičku dodelila dve vilici.

Jedilnik:

  • Hladna predjed: cikorija iz Gorenj, staran kis, oljčno olje
  • Topla predjed: jelenova kranjska klobasa z ribano kašo in zelenjavo
  • Glavna jed: račje stegno z baziliko, pečena polenta s kozjim sirom, grah
  • Sladica: borovničev sladoled s kislo smetano
