Fine Cuisine in and around Kranj (9 – 25 May 2025)
The Barbara and Tomaž Polenec have been running Brioni in Kranj for two decades already. Chef Tomaž Polenec loves local flavours, which he proudly introduces on elegant plates – often to the rhythms of French cuisine.
In the Gault & Millau Slovenia restaurant guide, the Brioni has been awarded two toques, two forks in the Falstaff culinary magazine and a heart in the Vivi rating.
Menu (9 – 25 May 2025):
From 9 to 25 May, the Brioni Restaurant and Café will serve the menu of the Fine Cuisine in and around Kranj event from Monday to Friday (from 4pm to 7:30pm) and on Saturdays (from 12 noon to 3pm).
→ Amuse bouche: fried dough ball with Podjed cottage cheese and Carniolan sausage
→ For starters: sourdough bread and house-made butter
→ Cold starter: smoked trout in fennel cream, green apple, dill oil and buttered breadcrumbs with bacon
→ Meat main course: fillet of chicken (fed with maize only) on new potatoes with asparagus, cream sauce and fresh chanterelles

→ Seafood main course: something from the sea (fillet of fish, octopus, prawns) with new potatoes, asparagus and chanterelles in shrimp sauce
→ Dessert: little spring cherry

Zakonca Polenec, Barbara in Tomaž, že skoraj dve desetletji vodita kranjske Brione. Chef Tomaž Polenec obožuje lokalne okuse, ki jih – pogosto v ritmih francoske kulinarike – ponosno vpelje na elegantne krožnike. V kulinaričnem vodniku Gault & Millau Slovenija imajo Brioni oznako POP.
