Barbara and TomaĹľ Polenec have been running the Brioni in Kranj for two decades. Chef Polenec adores local flavours, which he proudly presents on elegant plates, often with a touch of French cuisine.

In the Gault & Millau Slovenia culinary guide, Brioni has two toques; the culinary magazine Falstaff awarded them two forks, and the Vivi rating gave them one heart.

Menu (8 – 24 May 2026):

→ Amuse-bouche: potato tarte with asparagus and house-made cottage cheese
→ Cold appetizer: beef carpaccio with berries, basil mayonnaise and Gouda cheese
→ Soup: spring cream soup
→ Main course: chicken roulade stuffed with Carniolan sausage, apple chutney, asparagus, and house-made gnocchi

→ Menu price: 30 euros

→ Additional option (for an extra charge): lemon pavlova with yogurt mousse and strawberries with basil (7 euros) or spring chocolate cherry dessert (7 euros).

→ Local ingredients: vegetables from the Čadež farm (Delnice above the Poljane Valley), sourdough bread from the boutique bakery Androžarna, run by Andraž Bajželj (Predoslje) and dairy products from Mlekarstvo Podjed (Olševek).

Zakonca Polenec, Barbara in Tomaž, že skoraj dve desetletji vodita kranjske Brione. Chef Tomaž Polenec obožuje lokalne okuse, ki jih – pogosto v ritmih francoske kulinarike – ponosno vpelje na elegantne krožnike. V kulinaričnem vodniku Gault & Millau Slovenija imajo Brioni oznako POP.
