GOSTILNA PRI BAJDU
Fine Cuisine in and around Kranj (8 – 24 May 2026)
In the village of Senično, one can’t miss this restaurant with its long tradition, as it’s located right on the main road. Gostilna pri Bajdu is known for its good home-style food, friendly service, and hospitality, which is why it’s a favourite stop for both visitors seeking the flavours of the Gorenjska region and locals who appreciate its authentic atmosphere.
The restaurant has been in the hands of the Ribnikar family since its beginning, which dates back to the distant year of 1871. It is now run by the fourth generation.
Menu (8 – 24 May 2026):
→ Appetizer: Cream cheese with walnuts on rocket, served with venison prosciutto and toasted bread
→ Main course: Sous vide pork tenderloin with rosemary and garlic, leek purée, and root vegetables glazed in butter
→ Salad: locally grown in the Križe field
→ Dessert: yogurt pie with honey and berry sauce
→ Menu price: 30 euros
→ Additional option (for an extra charge) is a wine pairing. White wine: Dar sonca Yellow Rebula (Goriška Brda) or a fusion wine from the Zlati Grič winery (Slovenske Konjice). Red wine: Dar sonca Cabernet Sauvignon (Vipava Valley).
→ Local and Slovenian ingredients: Gozdič game (Zgornja Pristava, Slovenske Konjice), pork from the Čadež Butcher’s (Visoko), vegetables from the nearby Svetic Farm (Žeje) and the Pr’ Mahav – Jože Rozman Farm (Križe), cheese and dairy products from the Olimska sirarna (Ljubljana), and honey from beekeeper Peter Ribnikar (Srednja vas pri Goričah).
