GOSTILNA LAKNER
Fine Cuisine in and around Kranj (8 – 24 May 2026)
In the shade of century-old chestnut trees, the Lakner restaurant stands in Kokrica north of Kranj, where they serve lunch menus and prepare a wide range of home-made dishes.
Here, the focus is on carefully selected local ingredients, in close collaboration with Gorenjska farmers, and flavours that are enchanting.
Menu (8 – 24 May 2026):
→ Amuse-bouche with an aperitif from the frakelj glass: Carniolan sausage in pastry with fresh horseradish
→ Cold appetizer: lightly smoked carpaccio with cranberries and grated cheese from the Petelin Farm
→ Main course: Lakner steak with asparagus, porcini mushrooms and štruklji
→ Dessert: apple strudel with vanilla cream and cinnamon foam
→ Digestif: Prešeren’s brandy with dried figs or sršen (honey liqueur with ginger)
→ Menu price: 30 euros
→ Additional option (for an extra charge) is a wine pairing. From the Batič Winery (Šempas), we recommend Malvasia or Rosé, as well as Cabernet Franc or Merlot; from the Gaube Winery (Špičnik), Sauvignon and Yellow Muscat pair well with the menu (price per glass: 3 to 4.5 euros).
→ Local ingredients: carpaccio from Darko Kepic’s Farm and Butcher’s (Dvorje), cottage cheese from Podjed Dairy (Olševek), asparagus from Kovač Organic Farm (Kranj), eggs from Janja Jarc’s farm (Prebačevo), apples from Markut Orchards (Čadovlje), and smoked cheese from Pr’ Petelin Farm (Poljanska Valley).

At Lakner will be serving the menu for the Fine cuisine in and around Kranj event from 12 noon to 6pm on all days between 9 and 25 May. Reservations are required. If you book for more than 10 people, they will serve this locally themed menu until 9pm.
