Fine Cuisine in and around Kranj (8 – 24 May 2026)
Mojca and Damjan Štefe took over this restaurant more than fifteen years ago: he runs the kitchen, and she manages the dining room. This popular inn, located just a few meters off the road leading up to the Ljubelj mountain pass, is filled with warm, home-style flavours. Here, they bake their own bread, prepare the main courses, and serve house-made desserts.
Karavla 297 also has a few guest rooms and a picnic area next to the inn and has been awarded a toque by the Gault & Millau Slovenia culinary guide.

beef cheeks with honey sauce and chilli, mashed potatoes, glazed vegetables

→ salmon fillet with honey sauce, mashed potatoes, glazed vegetables
→ Dessert: baked cheese štrukelj with honey and cinnamon
→ Menu price: 30 euros
→ Local ingredients: vegetables from Pstota Farm (Zgornje Duplje), asparagus from Pr’ Kovač Organic Farm (Kranj), dairy products by Podjed Dairy (Olševek).
