Fine Cuisine in and around Kranj (8 – 24 May 2026)
Every day, the doors of the restaurant at the renovated Elegans Hotel Brdo at the Brdo Estate – a location for state visits – are open to both hotel guests and those who wish to enjoy their à la carte dishes for lunch or dinner.
The culinary director is Chef Janez Šetina, who, with his authentic creativity, caters to the most discerning guests from all corners of the world. The hotel restaurant is a proud holder of the Slovenia Green Cuisine sustainability label.
Menu (8 – 24 May 2026):
→ Amuse-bouche: aged goat cheese cream, honey and lemon gel, roasted hazelnut powder, candied lemon in honey, Lisjak lemon olive oil, microgreens, wild garlic oil
→ Warm appetizer: Brda ravioli with ricotta and wild garlic, asparagus ragout with scallops, roasted pear gel, caramelized pear, glaze of forest honey and aged balsamic vinegar, quick-roasted asparagus tips, microgreens, purple carrot chips, black walnut
→ Main course: pink-roasted veal loin, seared foie gras, carrot purée with honey butter, house-made cottage cheese strudel, glazed baby carrots with honey and thyme, veal demi-glace, honey gel with mustard seeds, microgreens, pumpkin seed chips
→ Dessert: milk honey mousse with spruce and lemon, coulis and cranberry caviar, buckwheat crumble, spruce espuma, yogurt gel, honey tuile
→ Menu price: 30 euros
→ Local ingredients: dairy products from the Odems Farm (Predoslje) and the Podjed Dairy (Olševek), honey from the Brdo apiary, fresh meat by the Hribar Butcher’s (Predoslje), fresh vegetables from the Anžon Farm – Križnar family (Stražišče), microgreens by Šebenik (Borovnica), and asparagus and other fresh vegetables from the Sloga Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative (Kranj).
